Veterans Administration Hospitals: soon to become the latest “phony” scandal

The VA was one of President Barack Hussein Obama’s campaign complaints about the Bush administration from 2007. In the National Review Online in an article Obama blasted Bush for stretching the military to the breaking point and ignoring conditions at VA hospitals.

Then-Senator Barack Obama, November 12, 2007: “After seven years of an Administration that has stretched our military to the breaking point, ignored deplorable conditions at some VA hospitals, and neglected the planning and preparation necessary to care for our returning heroes, America’s veterans deserve a President who will fight for them not just when it’s easy or convenient, but every hour of every day for the next four years.”

Then again during the last year of his first term he said the VA hospitals were in better conditions than his predecessor.

“For the first time ever, we’ve made military families and veterans a top priority not just at DOD, not just at the VA, but across the government.”

Now here in May 2014 there is reports of 40 deaths of veterans waiting for appointments at hospitals in Phoenix. And Obama finally comes out with Phase I of his reaction to scandals during his presidency. He is “madder than hell” and outraged over the allegations that veterans were kept waiting so long that 40 veterans died.

Now, the new Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki has said that they have forced the man in charge to resign. Forget that the same man had already said he was going to resign from his post months ago.

Phase II is now in operation: Obama and his hand picked investigators will investigate and punish those responsible. If this is anything like his similar promise he made of the Benghazi attack and murder of four Americans then those that have failed our veterans have nothing to worry about.  The men responsible for the attacks and murders of Americans in Benghazi are available for interviews by the press and not anyone from this administration has done a thing to arrest those responsible.

Phase III will happen when Obama and his regime think that enough time has passed that the American people have forgotten or softened in their anger about the deaths. Then him or his minions will start saying something like “This is a phony scandal. It was a mistake that occurred and was nothing that was done with malice.” It has been the same  way with all of his scandals.

Another phase that slips into some of these scandals is the fact that Obama gets his information from his from media reports. For a president he is in the dark on all things happening within his administration. A leader has to keep his tabs on what is occurring throughout his departments. This guy just hires people to do things he has ordered them to do and gets on with his life, playing golf and gallivanting around the world with his family.

2017 can’t get here quick enough. Our soldiers, vets, and their families need a commander in chief that insists on the right equipment to fight a war, the right rules of engagement that allows them to defend themselves, and most of all, the right services back home that will ensure their health and medical care. That is not too much to ask for our military men and women.
